Fishfly Festival

Well, it is that time of year. Time for the fish flies to arrive so that also means time for the annual Fish Fly Festival. We went to the fireworks on Friday (because they were cancelled Thursday due to weather), the Children's Day games and petting zoo on Saturday and the parade on Sunday. Some of our neighbors were in the parade, Lauren and Kathy for Brownies and Allie for cheer. After the parade we went to teh neighbors for swimming and pizza. It was a great weekend! Now we have to pack so that we can leave on Tuesday. See everyone "Up North" soon!

Megan's Birthday Party

We had a small birthday party for Megan last night. Everyone had a lot of fun, except wish we would have had better weather. We had it for last night so we all could go to our town's fireworks together but the weather didn't cooperate so will go to the fireworks tonight. The theme of the party was Hannah Montana.

Summer Fun

This week has been quite hot, the girls have been enjoying spending time in the water. We have been in the sprinkler, pool, and the slip n' slide.

Mike and I were also able to slip away for a few hours (tahnks to great neighbors) on Tuesday night to watch teh Tigers and Cubs game. For all the inquiring minds, Mike went in all Tigers gear - I think he has offically switched over. Here is a picture from the game, I believe it is Magglio's 2nd to last time at bat with his long hair. He cut it on Wednesday, it anyone needs a birthday present for Megan I am sure she would love to have his hair - it is on bid on ebay.

Father's Day Fun

We started out Father's Day kind of quiet, all three of the girls slept in kind of late. We then headed out to Blake's orchards to pick strawberries. I have to admit I was a little nervous bringing the twins, but everyone had a great time 9or so it seemed). My mom was going to tell me how to make freezer jam but I asked her if she was crazy and how many quarts she thought we were going to pick with the three kids. Well, it turned out that it was really easy picking. We are not sure how many quarts we picked because "down here" you pick by the pound. We picked about 10 lbs. We could have easily picked more. Megan did a good job of picking as did Annalyse, Meredith did a good job of picking the green ones. Annalyse took one bite and told me "gucky" and Meredith wouldn't even try them. The berries were very nice and big, I had trouble getting Mike out of the field (kind of like two other people I know, not to name names - John and Marie). We also got a free "tractor" ride, it was muddy by the field so to avoid cars getting stuck they drove people to the field.

After strawberry picking, we headed home to eat lunch and to change our clothes and then we headed out the door again, this time to Uncle Bob's. His work was hosting the "Zany Umbrella Circus." It was a good show with some juggling, jokes, and trapeeze acrobatics. The girls really enjoyed the show. The big kids enjoyed it also, could have had it a little cooler though. After the show, we had a behind the scene look at the "critters" and then dinner at Panera. After dinner we came home, with only a 45 minute nap teh twins were being a little "silly defiant."

Mike also opened a few small presents before we headed out for the day!

Happy Father's Day to a wonderful husband and dad!
