There have been lots of fairies flying around the Voakes house in the past few weeks. The “Tooth Fairy” visited about weeks for Megan’s front tooth and then we have “Katelyn the Wednesday Fairy.” Katelyn pays a visit to our house every Wednesday night. Megan makes sure she writes a note to Katelyn each week and in the morning, Katelyn always has answered all of the questions. All of Megan’s friends are also into fairies. Megan’s friend Mallory had a birthday party yesterday so she bought her a fairy garden “terrarium” to attract fairies. Megan and Mallory put their gardens together last night and then had a sleepover in hopes of a fairy visiting. Well, we had a fairy visit last night – although not the one they had hoped for earlier in the day. While, Megan and Mal were brushing their teeth, I put some rubber scorpions under their pillows. (The scorpions were some fishing lures that Ray gave Megan a while ago.) The girls were getting into bed and getting their pillows ready and when they moved them and saw the scorpions they began to scream. All of a sudden, Megan yelled - “Hey my tooth is gone, it fell out!” She must have hit her mouth with the pillow and her other front tooth fell out (it was quite loose already). We had thought she swallowed it but Mike found it on the floor. We thought it would be best to leave her tooth fairy pillow in the hall since all four girls (Meg, Mal, and the twins) were sleeping in one room. We didn’t want to “Tooth Fairy” to wake up any of the girls.

Minute to Win It and Zoo
We had a much busier weekend than we had planned (or at least I had planned). I was planning on having a relaxing weekend at home and doing some work to clean up our basement but really didn’t do either. On Saturday, we were invited to our neighbor’s house to play some “Minute to Win It” games with their family. Everyone had a really fun time. On Sunday, we made a trip to the Detroit Zoo. The weather was fairly nice although it was a little chilly.
Megan lost one of her two top front teeth last Saturday. I have forgotten to take a picture all week and of course I forgot again tonight and she is over the neighbor’s house right now so it will have to wait again. You can see her “new smile” in the last picture, however.

No Computer = No New Blog Post
Well, I would have updated the blog sooner, but unfortunately I had no computer to use! Cannot wait to see the computer use in our house in the next few years!
(This was our messy desk before we “cleaned” it up…the cleaning lady come tomorrow…I know, makes sense, right?…clean before the cleaning lady comes)
SO…if you want more frequent blog posts, perhaps you would like to make a monetary donation to purchase another computer?????

Dedicated to Uncle Bob
This post is dedicated to Uncle Bob…he was the first to call to complain that they blog has not been updated in a while (I knew it would be him or Auntie Annette). Not a whole lot of new pictures lately. I really did not take too many while we were in the U.P. We really didn’t do anything too exciting. We did celebrate Uncle Justin’s birthday with an ice cream cake from DQ and went swimming (at a hotel).
On Friday night after dinner, we went shopping for some birthday gifts. While we were shopping, Megan picked out a Barbie swimming pool to spend her Christmas gift card on (thanks Jan :)). She had been wanting a remote control Furr Real pet (I think Mike and I talked her out of it…she really doesn’t play with toys a whole lot so we didn’t want her to waste her hard earned $50.00 on a toy to not really play with…now she has a surplus of money).
On Saturday morning before a birthday party, we took Megan to paint pottery. She had this in her mind for a while that we would do this while the twins were at grandma and grandpa’s house. Megan painted a little “peace” box. Mike painted a coffee mug.
After the party, we headed to downtown Detroit to have pizza at Pizza Papalis for some deep dish pizza and took a walk to the outdoor ice rink. We also found Mike’s Superbowl hat for a great deal.
On Sunday, we hung around the house and went to see Gnomeo and Juliet (it was a cute movie).
The twins are doing good at Grandma and Grandpa’s house except that they all have bad colds. I don’t think they are missing us at all.
Hope this meets your approval Uncle Bob!!!!!!!
