Father's Day Fun

We started out Father's Day kind of quiet, all three of the girls slept in kind of late. We then headed out to Blake's orchards to pick strawberries. I have to admit I was a little nervous bringing the twins, but everyone had a great time 9or so it seemed). My mom was going to tell me how to make freezer jam but I asked her if she was crazy and how many quarts she thought we were going to pick with the three kids. Well, it turned out that it was really easy picking. We are not sure how many quarts we picked because "down here" you pick by the pound. We picked about 10 lbs. We could have easily picked more. Megan did a good job of picking as did Annalyse, Meredith did a good job of picking the green ones. Annalyse took one bite and told me "gucky" and Meredith wouldn't even try them. The berries were very nice and big, I had trouble getting Mike out of the field (kind of like two other people I know, not to name names - John and Marie). We also got a free "tractor" ride, it was muddy by the field so to avoid cars getting stuck they drove people to the field.

After strawberry picking, we headed home to eat lunch and to change our clothes and then we headed out the door again, this time to Uncle Bob's. His work was hosting the "Zany Umbrella Circus." It was a good show with some juggling, jokes, and trapeeze acrobatics. The girls really enjoyed the show. The big kids enjoyed it also, could have had it a little cooler though. After the show, we had a behind the scene look at the "critters" and then dinner at Panera. After dinner we came home, with only a 45 minute nap teh twins were being a little "silly defiant."

Mike also opened a few small presents before we headed out for the day!

Happy Father's Day to a wonderful husband and dad!

New Bling in Town

The twins are now sporting some new bling! They got their ears pierced tonight!!!!!
We have been trying for some now but everytime we go to a Claire's (we have tried a few) they never have two people working. Tonight was the night! Meredith went first (turned out Annalyse had a poopy diaper so Mike went and changed her diaper). Mike and Annalyse made it back in time to watch from the window outside. The workers thought it may be best if the other didn't see the first one going. Meredith did good, only cried for a minute until she got two suckers and a sticker. Next up was Annalyse. She is going through a very extreme case of shyness, she does not like strangers of any kind looking at her. She gets very nervous even shopping with cashiers, etc. She did good. She looks really unhappy in her after pictures but she really didn't cry for too long either. The pictures are not the best, it was a very cramped space.

Zoo

We went to the Detroit Zoo today. Our friends, Jack, Kathy, Lauren, and Morgan were also there. They were there for Girl Scouts, so we met up with them later in the day.

Beginning of Summer

On Wednesday, Megan had her picnic for her preschool class. Mike said that she was excited to see all of her "old" friends. She has not seen most of them for a month now.

Thursday was my last of school before summer vacation. My good friend, Cristy, called me around 9:30 am and told me that the doctor was inducing her labor and there would be a baby on Thursday. After school, I headed down to the hospital. A baby boy, was born a short time later. Nathan Stephen was born at 5:13pm!

Friday was the first offical day of summer vacation in the Voakes household. The day began by lazing around. We then went shopping for some baby gifts. After lunch, Megan and I went to the hospital so Megan could see her new friend, Nathan.

On Saturday, we went to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We went for the magic show and Megan and her friends, Lauren and Morgan, played a few games.
