By the looks of the kids in these pictures, they should have been hunting something for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It surely was not very Easter-like weather yesterday. I thought for sure with Easter being so late this year that it for sure would be warm, may be rethinking/reworking Easter outfits.
We started out yesterday at the Egg Hunt in our city park. It was rainy and cold. Wasn’t raining too hard for the actual “hunt” but the hunt was in fast forward, they did all the ages at one time to get it over quicker. Annalyse was lucky and won a big prize. Of course, Meredith was pouting – I think she was mad that Annalyse got another stuffed animal and she didn’t.
After the hunt at the waterfront, we headed to Morley Candy Factory to see the Easter Bunny and get their face painted. It was packed to capacity there! We saw the Easter Bunny (the line wasn’t too long) and then we waited for our picture to be done. The kids were disappointed that there was no face painting or balloon animals being made. We stood and watched them make caramel and chocolate covered pretzel rods for a while and Mike ALMOST bought a 2 1/2 foot high chocolate bunny for $70.00. He said he was going to buy it for his father-in-law but I am thinking he was hoping his father-in-law would share! :)
From Morley, we headed to “Custard King” (or at least that’s what we call it.) Of course, it was rainy, actually pouring! After we emptied our eggs under the pavilion and traded them in, the kids each got a stuffed animal and a free custard cone. We had to take the ice cream to go because of the rain.
After the last egg hunt, we went home for about a hour and half and rested before going to church. Mike decided that we weren't going to bring a small toy to church. Well, after we were there for about minutes, I decided that it was nice of the church to provide us with “toys.” The twins had fun tickling people with their palms. They slept from the second half of “the passion” through communion. It was a quiet week at church.
Tomorrow is the “twins” 4th birthday. Hard to believe that four years have gone by that fast. We are off to celebrate at Chuck E Cheese tomorrow night. They are bringing coffee cake to day care tomorrow. (what 4 year old wouldn’t want coffee cake instead of chocolate cake and frosting?????) Who would have thought they would hate frosting so much after devouring it on their 1st birthday? They are some crazy girls with some crazy food phobias – if they only knew how good some things taste!
Just a funny to leave you with – this is Meredith's rendition of “Baa Baa Black Sheep.”
Baa Baa Black Sheep have you any wool? Yes Sir, yes Sir, three bags full. One for the little boy who lives down the drain!
