Memorial Day Weekend

We kept pretty busy all weekend long.  Friday afterschool the girls played in the sprinkler and we had corn and hamburgers.  The girls loved their hamburgers, it was the first time they had one.  All three of the girls LOVE corn on the cob.Memorial Day Weekend 2010 006

Saturday morning we planted our flowers and vegetables.  The girls favorite part was watering the flowers.

We took baths and showers, ate lunch, took naps and then headed to the Tigers games.  It was a beautiful night for a ball game, too bad they lost.

On Sunday, the girls and I met Beth, Piper, Rory, and Avalon at the Toledo Zoo.  It was a hot day (91 degrees when we left).  The girls had a blast together.

When we got home from the zoo, we relaxed a little, took a bike ride, and then had a drive-way fire (sorry you missed it Bob).

Cuddling in mom and dad’s bed Monday morning

We went to the New Baltimore Memorial Day Parade on Monday morning.  The parade is a whole 10 minutes long but the girls enjoyed it.  Our neighbor Logan was in the parade for Boy Scouts so the girls had fun yelling to him (I think they embarrassed him a little).

Megan’s Big Day

Howdy everyone, it always seems to be busy around here as the  our weeks consists of soccer, gymnastics along with Alison’s school year starting to wine down and I with the occasional overnight travel for work.  But most of  it is coming to an end as Alison (and Megan) only have three weeks of school left, Megan has one more soccer game and one more gymnastic class.   As the Title of the blog this week say’s Megan’s Big Day, it sure was.  She had her Gymnastics show which was entertaining.  She did very well, however her best part was the balance beam, which we never recorded as Alison thought Uncle Bob was recording it but he was taking picture and so did she.  Oh well we did get a movie on the tumbling course.  She did a great round off and hand stand during it.
The other BIG event for Megan was her loss of her first tooth.  She finally got it out after three weeks of it being loose.  The one next to it is also loose, her and I will work that tomorrow night and hopefully have that out in a couple of days.
Other than that nothing much going on, except on Wednesday will be our 9 year wedding anniversary.  Huh and for some reason it feels longer.  (don’t tell Alison I said that)
Everyone have a GREAT week!!!!!  MAMAM

Rides, Fingerpainting, and Ice Cream

Last night while Mike was gone to his bowling banquet, I decided to take the girls to the mall.  I had a coupon I wanted to spend at JCPenney and thought I would get some of their energy out at the play area.  Well, the play area was closed (it looked like the roof may have been leaking) so the kids were very disappointed – good thing I had already taken them on the carousel.  Then shopping was quite fun, I decided on a pair of flip flops and then left.  I am not sure what I was thinking taking all of them by myself (we did eat dinner at the food court and that did go okay – it helps that they really didn’t eat lunch so they were all hungry!)

We started celebrating Mother's Day a little early – yesterday.  We went for breakfast at IHOP (I figured that it would be a little quieter then and it was).  I wanted to try the new cheesecake “sandwich” pancakes – they were good but the picture shows A LOT more cheesecake filling than there actually was.   This morning Megan gave me the present she made for me in school and then we just relaxed a little.  The girls fingerpainted a little, Meredith LOVED it this time.  May 2010 048 May 2010 049 May 2010 050 May 2010 051 May 2010 052 May 2010 053

After dinner tonight we went for a bike ride, we went for a pretty long one considering the twins tires are so small and towards the end, Meredith said – Mommy my legs are tired! – Mike said she sounded like me, not sure why I ALWAYS get the bad rap!  We then went to custard at Custard King (for Nanette).

It was a prefect end to a perfect day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms!

Until next week!
