Keeping Busy

We sure have been busy lately. We got back from our Wisconsin trip last Monday and Grandma and Grandma Hanner came to visit on Thursday. While they were here, we continued to stay busy. We spent some time at the beach on Lake Huron on Friday. The weather was perfect, the temps were just beginning to rise. On Saturday, Mike and Grandpa went to watch some PBA bowling while the girls went shopping. The kids also swam in the backyard and went in the sprinkler on Saturday. Summer has finally arrived in Detroit.

On Sunday, the seven of us went to the Detroit Tiger baseball game. The temperature was 90 degrees, way to hot for a baseball game. We arrived to the field as soon as the gates opened, it was Photos with Players day. Well, it was nearly impossible to get up close to any players, Megan did have her picture taken with Ryan Rayburn. The day was HOT, HOT, HOT! Luckily, my mom and myself were able to find some seats in the shade for about 4 innings which gave the twins some cool air to take a nap. (They both slept for close to an hour!!) After the game, which went into extra innings, the girls (and big boys) ran the bases. Everyone had a fun time but were exhausted from the heat!

Update from Past Week or So...

Last Thursday, we went to Port Huron for the "Family Night" festivities for the Port Huron to Mackinaw Yacht Race. It was fun walking along the river looking at all the big boats. There was also a lot for the kids to do, unfortunately the weather (pouring rain) cut the night a little short.

Sunday night, Mike and Megan went to the Tiger's game. Bad weather was threatening but never happened. They had a good time, Megan even ran the bases at 11 pm!

Monday, the girls spent a little time at the beach in New Baltimore for some playing in the sand.

Monday night we went to dinner and the zoo with our friends the Adelini's. It was "Memberfest" for all of the zoo members, it was a fun time but not quite a good as they made the e-mail sound. They said we would see animals up close and personal, well, I guess that meant touching the hides of animals. Oh, well! We had fun anyways.

Lake Michigan

On the way back home on Monday we stopped at Lake Michigan - close to St. Ignace. We were planning on stopping for a break and let the kids play in the sand for a while but the weather was pretty warm so we got our suits on. The kids had a really great time there - I think we were there for almost two hours. The best part - the girls were tired out and slept from the Mackinaw Bridge to Brich Run (close to 3 hours).
Everyone was glad to be home (for a few days). We will soon be off to Wisconsin for some fun at Annette's and Justin's. Lots of plans - shopping, Wisconsin Dells and waterpark fun, Green Bay Packer Family Fun Night, boating, etc. Let's hope for some nice, warm weather this time around.

Lots of pictures - too many cute ones to choose from!

Fishfly Festival

Well, it is that time of year. Time for the fish flies to arrive so that also means time for the annual Fish Fly Festival. We went to the fireworks on Friday (because they were cancelled Thursday due to weather), the Children's Day games and petting zoo on Saturday and the parade on Sunday. Some of our neighbors were in the parade, Lauren and Kathy for Brownies and Allie for cheer. After the parade we went to teh neighbors for swimming and pizza. It was a great weekend! Now we have to pack so that we can leave on Tuesday. See everyone "Up North" soon!
