Soccer, Bouncing, and Caverns, OH MY!

Thursday night, Megan had her first soccer game of the fall season.  Their team seems to be as good as last year :) oh, well!  She is #6 this year.

Saturday morning, we headed to Ohio to go to Piper and Rory’s birthday parties.  They had it at a Bounce House, they kids and adults had a blast as seen by the pictures!Ohio 9-10 001ohio 9 001 Ohio 9-10 007 Ohio 9-10 011 Ohio 9-10 012 Ohio 9-10 015 Ohio 9-10 037 Ohio 9-10 079

On Sunday the Michigan Voakes girls sported Packer clothes and the Ohio girls sported Steelers clothes (so much for home state pride).  Vinnie was a neutral party :)Ohio 9-10 115 Ohio 9-10 117 Ohio 9-10 118 Ohio 9-10 121 Ohio 9-10 124

After snapping some pictures, we headed to a local area with Indian Caverns.  The caves were cool, the girls were a little bit freaked (I think they kind of fed off of each other).  After touring the cave, the kids (and some adults) panned for gold and gems.  It was a really neat place, there was a goat and sheep walking freely all over.

Ready and EXCITED for the first day of first grade at her new school.  (Megan went to kindergarten at my school last year and she is going to her “neighborhood” school this year).  Mike took Megan to school and picked her up and then they went to lunch.  She said she had a great first day but was a little disappointed she didn’t get any homework. (I told Mike she would get over the homework thing in a few years and realize it is overrated :).

After Megan’s “Meet the Teacher” tonight we went out for ice cream to celebrate the first day of school.

I also had a great day today, I only have 15 students (so far) this year so it is a dream compared to 27 last year!  :)First Day of First Grade 2010 069 First Day of First Grade 2010 071 First Day of First Grade 2010 072 First Day of First Grade 2010 079

Grandma and Grandpa Hanner were here last week to watch the girls while I had teacher development meetings and finish setting up my classroom.  The week started out warm, HOT actually, and gradually got colder.  On Sunday, we went to Chuck E Cheese and then to the cider mill for cider and doughnuts, felt like fall with the cool weather.
