Easter Bunny

We went to Morley Candy to see the Easter Bunny today. It has become a tradition for the last few years. It was a pretty successful picture, all three girls looking and smiling - can't beat that. They also had free face painting (it was amazing how fast she could paint someones face, it only took her a minute or two for Megan's) and balloon "sculptures." They also had a lot of free samples, so much that Mike even passed some chocolate up at the end.
Getting ready to see the Easter Bunny -

"Anna, look at the camera and smile"

What else is going on...
Megan is still LOVING gymnastics, she is getting quite good at handstands and cartwheels (maybe she doesn't take after Auntie Annette after all :) She had to miss gymnastics on Thursday, she came sown with teh flu on Wednesday night. I guess I have learned o clean up puke by fire (this was our first experience with kids having the flu in our house - I guess it's not too bad since Megan is almost 6). She went to school on Friday and seemed fine and then she got sick on Friday night again. We had to miss our friend's Lauren birthday party on Saturday. It was at a gymnastics place so I am sure all of the girls would have had a great time. Oh well, some things happen.

The twins are communicating so much more and they are talking clearer, can't think of anything right now but some things they have been saying crack me up - they sure are taking evrything in and are much smarter than we give them credit for. Annalyse can spell her name no problem, Meredith is getiing better and better but still has some problems.

Skating and Snow Fort

Grandma and Grandpa brought the twins back on Thursday. They had a fun time Up North. On Saturday morning, Grammy and Papa got to watch Megan at gymnastics and then Saturday night we went to dinner and then Disney on Ice. The girls loveg the show, they were excited to see the characters. The twins were worried when the different characters were not on the ice at all times.

On Sunday, Mike made a snow fort with teh girls in the front yard. Actually, Mike made the fort and the girls enjoyed it when he was done. But unfortunately, tonight the fort is almost melted.

Before the girls went outside, they had to use the potty - two at a time!

SNOW DAY! NOT!

Megan and I had high hopes for a snow day, I think my hopes may have been a little higher than hers. We got about 4-5 inches of heavy, wet snow but it came a little too late for school to be canceled (at least ours). When I woke Megan up, I told her I had bad news - we had to go to school, no snow day. I told her the even worse news, her neighbor friends had the day off (our home district had a snow day), she was not disappointed in the least - she said, "at least we get to go to school and learn." My little scholar sure loves to learn. I am not sure how much she learned today, the school was pretty sparse, I had 10 stduents absent!
After school today, we made the most of the snow and made a snowman. Mike was able to get out of work a little early so we had some fun in the snow before dinner. Hard to believe we got this much snow after having a beautiful weekend. Yesterday we walked around teh zoo in 45 degrees and sunny weather!

The Things You Learn from Kids...

Hey if your blow-dryer ever stops working, you can always use the heating vent in the floor.

Megan had to decorate a bag for fill with items for her "Secret Valentine" for her party at school on Thursday. We took out my scrapbook paper scraps and had some fun!

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day. The girls and I are heaaded to the UP on Thursday/Friday. Hopefully we have good weather for traveling and some snow for sledding.

Can you guess what we made this weekend?

If you guessed pasties you were right. I don;t have any pictures of the assembly. The twins were quietly napping and Mike, Megan, and Bob went to see "The Polar Bear Plunge" in downtown, so I assembled them in peace and quiet. It went pretty fast, we eneded making 22 pasties. They turned out really tasty!

Bob and Megan also made a fort of blankets to sleep in Saturday night. Megan slept good, Bob said he tossed and turned all night - I think I would have bailed as soon as she feel asleep!

Last weekend we headed down to Columbus to visit the Voakes family. Mike's cousin Jan and her daughter Alyssa were up (from Alabama - right Bob?) for the long weekend. We hadn't seen them since I was pregnant with the twins I believe. Alyssa turned five today so there were a lot of girls around the same age. We hardly saw the girls all weekend, they all played together very well. We tried to get some pictures of all of the little cousins but it didn't go so well, oh well - we tried.

In other news, Megan is beginning gymnastics on Thursday. She is very excited, she must talk about all day in school also because her teacher keeps telling me how excited she is. Megan will be bringing home her 2nd report card on Friday, hopefully it is as good as the first. Her teacher told me she is getting very good at her reading and writing, she told me she hopes she isn't bored in first grade. She LOVES to read!

The twins are doing recognizing their letters and learning their sounds. Annalyse is very intriqued by letters - everwhere there is an "A" she said, there is Annalyse. She also knows M for Meredith, K for Kennedy, T for Tony from daycare. I would say she knows about 75% of her letters. Meredith is doing good also, she is just not as interested as Annalyse. The potty training is going well. Annalyse still needs reminders to use the bathroom, I would say that Meredith is all potty trained when she is awake.

That's about it, have a great week. I am going to try to get some videos this week of the twins signing their alphabet.

Let's Go to the Movies, Let's Go See the Stars ...

10 bonus points to whoever can guess what movie that is from.

We made our first family trip to the movie theatre today. We went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeakal. The girls loved the movie. Annalyse loved the dancing (she was dancing in her seat), Megan loved the Chipettes, and Meredith loved the popcorn (she liked the movie also). The twins sat good, they were getting a little antsy toward the end but if there hadn't been 20 minutes of previews, I think they would have been okay.
