Beginning of Summer

On Wednesday, Megan had her picnic for her preschool class. Mike said that she was excited to see all of her "old" friends. She has not seen most of them for a month now.

Thursday was my last of school before summer vacation. My good friend, Cristy, called me around 9:30 am and told me that the doctor was inducing her labor and there would be a baby on Thursday. After school, I headed down to the hospital. A baby boy, was born a short time later. Nathan Stephen was born at 5:13pm!

Friday was the first offical day of summer vacation in the Voakes household. The day began by lazing around. We then went shopping for some baby gifts. After lunch, Megan and I went to the hospital so Megan could see her new friend, Nathan.

On Saturday, we went to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We went for the magic show and Megan and her friends, Lauren and Morgan, played a few games.

Tons O' Trucks

On Saturday we went to an event called "Tons O' Trucks." There is virtually every kind of truck imaginable there. The kids are allowed to go in all of the trucks and honk the horns, etc. We thought the twins would have been a little more excited since going down the highway they like to say "big truck" and point to all of the trucks big and small. Meredith did get into the excitement towards the end.

A Little of This and a Little of That

We may have a beautician on our hands. We always knew that Meredith liked playing with hair, but this is what Mike found when he walked into the living room this week.

Megan finished up with swim classes this week. I think we will sign her up for one more session and then hopefully the weather will be warm enough for her to put what she learned to the test in the pool and lakes.

On Thursday, Megan traveled to the UP with Uncle Bobby. She got spend some time with her granparents and uncles. Hopefully she didn't talk Uncle Bobby's ear off on the trip!

On Saturday, we did our annual Memorial Day Weekend planting. We got all of the flowers and vegetables planted. The twins actually helped out a lot. Now we just have to wait for everything to grow!

Memorial we went to the parade. I forgot to bring the camera (I know, hard to imagine!) I took some pictures after we got home. After a picnic lunch, the girls took an early nap and then we were off to try out a new park. The park is close to my school and is BEAUTIFUL! There is a big play structure, a small garden, and a water fountain feature. The girls enjoyed it a lot, it turned out to be a beautiful day!
