Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Well, Megan was the big winner at the Detroit Tiger game today. They had a drawing to give away 4 Little Tikes Hummers and Megan was lucky enough to win one of them. She and Mike got to go on the field bewteen the 5th and 6th to accept the prize. The bad part is that we have to go back down to D-Town to pick it up as we drove my dad's car to the game.

We had a fun time at the game and was very thankful that our seats were in the shade.

New Do's

Last night Megan got her "Back-to-School" haircut and the twins got their "First Haircut". The twins just got a little trim so it isn't quite so shaggy in the back. They both sat surprisingly well, the longest they sat sit for a long time.

Self Feeding

Today I guess I was feeling a little daring. I decided to let the twins feed themselves their mac and cheese. Well, it was not read successful. I am quite sure that Megan was feeding herself at this time but I think part of the problem is that there is two of them. It seems a lot easier and quicker (when you take into account clean up time) to just feed their food to them. But, on the other hand, they do have to learn at some point to feed themselves. They started out with spoons but they were not making any into their mouths so I took their spoons away (they were not happy). They were doing so-so with their hands but were getting quite messy. At this point, they refused any assistance from Mike or myself. They finally finished eating, but did not eat nearly as much as usual. Enjoy the pictures, I missed taking one of Annalyse putting the bowl on top of her head (requiring her hair to be washed in the kitchen sink).

Painting Pottery

On Tuesday, Megan and I took Cristy out to lunch for her 30th birthday and then went to the Painted Pot afterwards. The Painted Pot is a pottery shop where you pick out a piece of your choice and then paint it. They fire it in the kiln and it is ready a week later. Megan painted a little princess jar to put her jewerly in. She did a pretty good job, I can't wait to see it when we get it back.

Fun at the Zoo

We took advantage of the nice cool weather (well, mid 70's) to go to the zoo. The girls had a fun time.

Trip to Wisconsin

This past weekend we made the trek through traffic to Appleton, Wisconsin. According to the maps, it should be a shorter trip there than to our parent's houses in the UP (by about 1 hour) BUT it always takes longer. There is always a lot of traffic on I-94 through MI, Indiana, and Chicago. Once we made it there we had a really fun time. On Friday, while Annette and Justin worked, we went to Wisconsin Dells with my parents. We had a fun time. We did some shopping in the afternoon and then at night Mike, Megan, and myself did a very small waterpark while my parent kept a watchful eye on the busy twins. Megan had a great time, she sure has no fear in her. It was also Mike's first waterpark experience. He had a great time as well and I think he is ready for Noah's Ark. Later in the evening Mike, myself, and the twins headed back to my sister's while Megan and my parents spent the night in the Dells to tackle Noah's Ark in the morning. (I don't have any pictures from the Dells - they are all on my mom's camera).
On Sunday we went boating. We were having a great time, just jumped off the boat and were swimming a little bit (getting ready to go tubing) "When the gales on August came early, on a big lake they call Winnebago!" All of a sudden it stated to thunder and lighten. We hopped on the boat and went to the nearest restaurant for dinner. Fortunately during dinner, the rain stopped. After dinner the ride back to shore should take about 15 minutes and it took well our 90 minutes. Justin did a great job of steering the boat and we all made it back safe and sound and just a little wet. We will see if the twins are intereted in going boating again someday.
